Trinity’s Ministries

Trinity UMC is the place where we worship the risen Christ, nurture our faith, and reach out to the world with love, charity, and justice.   These ministries are just the beginning of what God is inviting us to do.
Trinity’s single 10:00 a.m. worship will continue at least through the fall and Advent/Christmas season.
Trinity Youth and Families at RARA
After a summer break, Trinity Youth (and their families) are invited to volunteer for an hour at RARA (Rockbridge Area Relief Association) on Sunday, September 12 from 4:30-5:30.
RARA is located at the Pivano Building, 350 Spotswood Drive, Lexington.
We’ll restock the foodbank shelves and prep food bags for the week.
Contact Pastor Joe if you and your family can volunteer
The Trinity Ringers and Choir Rehearsals
The Trinity Ringers resumed their weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evening this week. If you would like to join them, it is NOT too late. There are spots available for you! Please join the ringers in the new music room at 5:45 on Wednesday evenings.
Our choir will begin rehearsing Wednesday, September 15th after an 18-month hiatus. Please consider joining us! This group is open to everyone! All levels of singers, no matter how young or old are welcome. Now is the perfect time to give the choir a try since we are reinventing ourselves post-pandemic.
All levels of musicians are welcome in both performing groups! Come make a joyful noise!
Everyone a Minister. Every Minister in Ministry Survey
TUMC has sent out a congregational survey. The Everyone a Minister, Every Minister in Ministry survey will help to offer opportunities to serve in current ministries and to help identify new ministries at Trinity that may be needed. Watch your email for the link to complete this SurveyMonkey survey.

Walk with the Trinity Trekkers every Tuesday at 9 a.m. Come out and join your Trinity friends as we walk on the Chessie Trail every Tuesday morning. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy fellowship and to get in shape!

The Outreach Offering for September will benefit Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity is a partnership, not a giveaway program—Habitat’s homeowner families buy the houses that Habitat builds and renovates. Habitat homeowners also invest hundreds of hours of their own labor working alongside volunteers. As a result, Habitat for Humanity houses are affordable to low-income families in Rockbridge County. Please make your check out to Trinity UMC, designated for Habitat.

Please bring COOKING OIL to church during the month of September for the RARA Food Pantry. The food pantry also needs a variety of canned and boxed foods as well as plastic grocery bags. You may drop them off at the church between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each weekday. Pastor Joe is volunteering at RARA on Tuesdays and will deliver these items for you!
